Job Description

MainOne Cable is a leading facilitator and preferred provider of innovative telecom services and network solutions such as Connectivity and Data Center Solutions to Telecom operators, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), other businesses and Government institutions across West Africa.

Responsibilities

The Lead, Total Rewards shall assist to plan and implement effective human resource policies, procedures, processes, and employee compensation and reward strategies that will support the realization of the corporate strategy. He/She shall also maintain good communication and positive relationships with employees to attend to their HR needs and promote employee satisfaction.

The specific responsibilities shall include the following:

Compensation and Benefits

  • Plan and direct programs relating to compensation and benefits, including policies, objectives, initiatives and the overall design, implementation, communication, and administration of these programs.
  • Ensure timely and effective administration of monthly payroll and statutory remittances – Pensions, NHF, Taxes.
  • Prepare annual compensation budgets, in line with the corporate strategy, ensuring appropriate inputs and timeliness of completion.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of compensation related letters/ communication to staff.
  • Ensure effective administration of exit letters, computation, and payment of exit benefits.
  • Proactively evaluate competitiveness of existing compensation, benefits and retention programs through research, surveys and trend analysis, proffer recommendations and implement approved recommendations.
  • Champion the consistent administration of the Company’s compensation and benefit programs in compliance with approved company policies and governmental regulations.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Human Resource Information System (HRIS)/HR Operations

  • Optimise the use of the Company’s HRIS, ensuring that the system acts as a ’’single source of truth’’ for employee information.
  • Drive the effective use of the employee self service module on the HRIS, ensuring that this is a ’’one-stop’’ shop for employees.
  • Attend to HRIS queries and requests from employees and teams.
  • Engage with HRIS vendor, as required, for the benefit of the Company.
  • Ensure the effective implementation, integration to other systems and management of the Company’s HRIS, incorporating templates and reports on the system.
  • Maintain employee-related databases/ records and ensure accessibility of required employee information.
  • Prepare and analyse reports for HR and management decision making.
  • Prepare periodic reports for management, as required.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in in HR management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, engagement and negotiation skills
  • Interpersonal and teamworking skills
  • Prioritization and time management skills to manage multiple conflicting activities and accomplish the desired end results within stipulated timelines
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Robust understanding of compensation administration
  • Change management skills
  • Attention to detail
